Quick Installation Guide – PTC Creo 6.0 – Student Edition

CLICK the Basic Tab, NOT Academic and fill out the required fields to create an account
o Accept the Export Agreement and then click Continue.

If you are installing Creo for the very first time, then skip to the next step. Otherwise, in case there
were previous editions of Creo installed on your computer, delete all those licenses from this location
C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing (or shift the previous licenses to some other location till the installation
of Creo 6.0 is complete). After deleting all those licenses, now move to the next step.
The point to be remembered here is that ProgramData is actually a hidden folder. So the best thing to do
is to simply copy and paste C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing.

Unzip the downloaded DVD image (MED-100WIN-CD-430_###_Win64.zip):

Right click on the zipped file that was downloaded, choose Extract All, then choose where the DVD will be extracted to.
Choose somewhere easy to find, like your desktop.
• Open up the MED-100WIN-CD-430_M###_Win64 folder through Windows Explorer.
This folder can be copied onto a shared drive, DVD, or flash drive to install the software on other computers.

• Turn off any firewall, antivirus, and antispyware programs.
• Execute the setup.exe program. DO NOT execute setup-schools.exe; this will generate errors.
o Right-click on the setup.exe file and choose “Run as Administrator” from the drop-down menu.

From the PTC Installation Assistant dialog box:
• Select Install new software and click Next.
• Accept the license agreement and click Next.
• In the Simple License Entry product code field, enter the product code
BK600908EDSTUDENTEDUNI and then click Install Licensing.

Username (Email): Enter your username (email address).
Password: Enter your password.
o Click Login.
• Upon seeing the “Success!” notification, click on Next.
• From the Applications menu, remove all applications that you don’t require, and click on Install.
• Once the process is completed, click on Finish.
